Aren’t grandparents just the very best?  My Grandma, my angel grandmother is everything I aspire to be in life.  I asked her what she wishes she had known or would want her children/grandchildren to know about this life.  I love what she said and thought that we all could use these 10 lessons.

  1. I wish I would have realized how vital and how sacred teaching my children about the creation of the world.
  2. I wish I would have played more and cleaned less; for that is when good memories are made and cherished.
  3. I wish I would have been more aware of the needs of others.  To have moved from all about ‘me’ to all about ‘you’.
  4. I wish I had been more diligent in teaching my children the plan of life and how much it influences everything we do.
  5. I wish I had been more prayerful about the CHOICES that I made in life.
  6. I wish I had been more aware of the simple things in life.  One morning when I was visiting from out of state, my father invited me to ride with him on the tractor while he cut his hay. A sweet bonding took place that morning between Dad and I as we enjoyed the fragrance of the newly cut hay.
  7. I wish I had been more tender and understanding with my elderly parents.  Regret is so painful because there is nothing you can do to change it. Motherhood has been the noblest honor I have ever received.  My children have put huge jewels in my motherly crown.
  8. I wish I would have taken the time to hug, kiss, tickle, or somehow touched my children more everyday.
  9. I wish I would have laughed more and disciplined less.
  10. I wish I would have realized how short life really is. It truly is sunrise, sunset.
