This laundry schedule and sorting guide will make your life so much easier, plus we’ve added free printables so you can have your laundry schedule on-the-go.
Laundry is my nemesis. I don’t know about you but it is the NEVER.ENDING.TASK. Don’t you just love how kids put on a shirt for 5 seconds and decide on something else to wear? Instead of hanging them up (heaven for bid that might take too much effort) they throw them in the laundry room. “You know mom can wash those clean clothes again, she has NOTHING to do.”
Do you go days without doing a load? Have piles up to your ceiling of dirty clothes? Can you not find those favorite jeans because they are sitting in the dirty clothes pile?
You will want to start with quality laundry detergent. This will save you money because your clothes will last longer and not wear out as fast. Also, I have found that Lysol Laundry Sanitizer has become my best friend. With all the dirty, grass-stained, stinky clothes we have from sports, school, and gym, Lysol Laundry Sanitizer has become my life saver when it comes to getting rid of odors and lingering bacteria. You can find this at your nearest Target in the laundry care aisle, which we all know we visit there far too often so it should be very convenient! And, if you have Cartwheel App (which all moms should) we can save you 20% off by clicking HERE. You can use this offer now until 10/28! Share it with your friends and family too!
As moms, we are busy and active and so are our children which means very messy, stinky clothes! Lysol Laundry Sanitizer does not have any chlorine bleach which gives all moms a sense of peace. My daughter has a white cheerleading outfit and it is safe on most fabrics including lights, darks, and whites as well as in cold water. I love how I do not have to worry about lingering smells or bacteria as it kills 99.9% of them.
You need to create a weekly laundry schedule. Here is an example of what we have found that works best for our family. It keeps us organized and not having to re-wash loads over and over because you have forgotten about them in the wash. We have found it works best to wake up and add a load of laundry to your wash. Also, having a laundry basket for each family member is helpful. Have your children help with folding, matching socks, and putting away their own laundry. Making labels for your kids on their drawers will help children organize their pile. If you cannot hear the washer and dryer alarm, set a timer that you can hear to keep you on your schedule. Stick to the schedule!!!! It will save you time!!!
It is very important to make sure you are washing your clothes correctly. This will save you $$ in the long run. There has been many times that my entire load has come out blue or pink. $$ down the drain. We have designed a guide for you to use (or better yet, your children) to keep your clothes looking new and in excellent condition.
